Northern Nevada Medical
Center is
a 108-bed acute care hospital located on 23 hillside acres in Sparks,
Nevada. The hospital provides physicians and patients with many of
the latest technological innovations for diagnosis and treatment of
even the most acute clinical conditions. Northern Nevada Medical
Center is accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) and licensed by
the state of Nevada.

Position Description
Summary

Functions in both the PACU and PHA
(Preoperative Holding Area) environment. Provides direct patient care to infant through
geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Assists with the maintenance of PHA and PACU
equipment and inventory.
Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses, plans, implements
and evaluates the care of patients undergoing surgical, pain
management, and endoscopic procedures. Responsible for monitoring patient’s
physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment. Communicates with surgeon and
anesthesiologist immediately and as needed about patient condition;
receives direction for patient management. Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis. Proficient in pain
management, guidelines and medication dosing. Maintains regulatory agency
requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and
standards.

Requirements

Current
Registered Nurse licensure in state of
Nevada.

1 year PACU
or Critical Care experience

Current BCLS,
ACLS and PALS certificatio! n
