Southwest Medical Associates has an exciting opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible Anesthesiologist at UMC. This is an employed position. The Anesthesiologist plans, provides and administrates for all aspects of preoperative care, evaluation and management in the dealing of Anesthesia in preoperative, intraoperative and post-operative environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide Anesthesia for UMC Trauma Program, general cases, orthopedics, Urology, ENT, Neurosurgery, some peds and cardiac
Assessment of, consultation for, and preparation of patients for anesthesia
Relief and prevention of pain during and following surgical, obstetric, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
Management of critically ill patients
Diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic and cancer related pain
Clinical management and teaching of cardiac and pulmonary resuscitation
Evaluation of respiratory function and application of respiratory therapy
Conduct of clinical and basic science research
Supervise, teach and evaluate performance of personnel, both medical and paramedical, involved in preoperative care
Required Qualifications:
Must have completed a minimum of 4 years of graduate medical education in the field of Anesthesiology, as well as 3 years of training in clinical anesthesia. Clinical Base Year (CBY) and 36 months of clinical anesthesia training (CA-1, CA-2, and CA-3 years)
Active and unrestricted medical license in the State of Nevada or ability to obtain prior to employment
Must be board certified or board eligible in specialty
Must have a valid DEA license or ability to obtain prior to employment
