We are looking for an Anesthesiologist at Nellis AFB in NV, hours are 6:45 AM and 3:15 PM, Monday - Friday, possib! le overtime and on-call. Duties include supervising the simultaneous delivery of anesthesia care of certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs); administer anesthesia in lieu of CRNA to patients whose condition poses a particular anesthetic difficulty. The Anesthesiologist will assist with the training of students and residents who are approved by the training/program director or GME office to train in the Anesthesia Department, which may include presenting lectures, leading discussions concerning medical topics. Will provide routine and emergent anesthesia care for neonatal through geriatric patients with American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classifications I-VI. The requirement to “provide sedation or general anesthesia in remote locations†at our facility includes bronchoscopies, gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures, epidural blood patches, transesophageal echocardiograms, cardioversions, interventional radiology procedures and procedures in the cardiac c! atheterization lab. No cardiothoracic or neurosurgical surgeon! s are supported. Administer appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks in the treatment of acute and chronic pain. Oversee the activities of the recovery room and administer drug and respiratory therapy in the recovery room setting.
The Anesthesiologist must have current board certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. CPR, BCLS and ACLS certification must be obtained through the American Heart Association and/or Red Cross approved training program. In addition, PALS and NRP certification will be required prior to approval of credentialing.
